Finally! Caught up.

Got stuck behind the 95th St bridge on my way to work this morning.

And then drew this while bored at work.

Her expression is a bit derpy... And her hair is not very African...
Things to work on.

3.30.12 - Roxy Bellows

She's wonderfully funny and super sassy.
The only way I can think to describe her is "improv lounge singer"

Fabulous night with fabulous coworkers, Kera and Michael!

Reflections and Graffiti

Two things that make me happy.

Amazing people vs Horrible people

So anyone who has been in downtown Chicago at least twice has probably seen a guy that stands outside of the Old Navy on State Street. He's got a microphone and an amp. And he stands there all day almost everyday yelling very hateful things at passers by about how they are damned and going to hell.

So I was extremely happy to see this guy sitting next to him today playing a ukulele.
He was very nice and people were giving him tons of money.
Just for sitting next to this ass and being happy!

Spring

The weather here has been oddly awesome for March in Chicago.

It's been 80 degrees every day for the past week.
Thusly, the flowers and trees look more like May than March.

And in the spirit of Spring, I cleaned and rearranged the living room.
And hung lights.

Things I saw today

A door made of dark wooden panels, layered on top of each other in a manner similar to shingles, with a rams horn for the door handle at the U-Haul storage facility at 83rd St.

A mother walking hand in hand with her daughter. Both wearing very bright colors and with very elaborate hairdos.

A row if street lights on during the day across from a lacrosse game.

A tiny well laid out, homemade garden between the metra tracks and a soccer field.

A toilet sitting up against a fence in a parking lot full of abandoned semi trailers.

My favorite metra conductor greeting me in his usual jest; yelling "NO!" into the air and then sitting and sulking like a small child.

A small girl in a pink track suit looking out between the columns of the bridge onto a field if bright green grass.

A girl wearing sunglasses, a long sleeved denim jacket and a pair if bright purple spandex booty shorts.

6 different groups of people having picnics in the agora sculpture.

A large man sitting on the steps of the potbelly on Roosevelt with two tiny and painstakingly groomed dogs with bows in their hair.

The dead body of a squirrel in a garden next to a church and school with flowers placed around it.

A Well Spent Day Off

Today was awesome.
Had lunch with friends.
Went to take pictures of this installation.

While there, talked to an actor who asked me to do his headshots.
Then went to a lovely thrift/local artists store near the old apt.
Maybe got their son a job teaching sailing with me this summer.
Then went an talked to a local artist near me who I might be working with on an installation he is doing in Block 37!

BEST DAY.

Also it was beautiful and warm.
And flowers.

As I see it on my trip home.
